100 Years of Beavers
There is a furry animal on the Sepia Saturday prompt this week. Well I have a rather large furry animal for you.
Today is the 100th anniversary Massachusetts Institute of Technology's move from Boston's Back Bay across the river to Cambridge, Massachusetts.
This giant beaver always lead the school's parades on special occasions. On this occasion he/she lead the entire faculty and student body across Charles River to it's new campus.
Of course M.I.T.'s mascot is the beaver nature's original engineer. Those animals are pretty good at creating dams to raise water levels flooding roadways and backyards. Their bungalows are created below water with many layers to protect them from the elements and predators. Busy as a beaver indeed!
