Old School Typing
This week's Sepia Saturday prompt shows a typesetter working his craft. I thought typesetting and typewriting would be a good connection so here we have a classroom of old typewriters on an old postcard. Now who would want to send someone a postcard of a classroom full of typewriters? Your guess is as good as mine!
This Library of Congress postcard shows a typing class at Eastern High School in Washington, D.C., c.1920. Most of the typewriters are Remington #10s. Click the photo to view it larger and enjoy the fashions which were popular then. If you click here, you’ll see the most wonderful thing about this photo: the list of classroom typewriter serial numbers and reported problems
